MOVIE REVIEW: “DEJA VU”

Denzel Washington does another fine acting job in “Deja Vu,” a new thriller from director Tony Scott.  Washington plays an ATF investigator called to investigate a terrorist attack on a ferry in the port of New Orleans.  A bomb has killed a number of civilians and Navy personnel and, as Washington’s character begins to gather evidence, he finds a link between the bombing and the murder of a young woman whose body was found down river from the explosion. MOVIE REVIEW:”CASINO ROYALE”

Daniel Craig is a very good actor.  In fact, he may be a bit too good for the role of James Bond.  He stars as 007 in the latest official Bond film, “Casino Royale.”  He takes over from Perice Brosnan and is the key cog in a “re-envisioning” of the much beloved master spy.  Based on the first of the late Sir Ian Fleming’s novels about the super spy, the action revolves around a master criminal who helps to finance international terrorism using high stakes poker in a casino as a front.  Bond is sent in to smash the scheme.

MOVIE REVIEW: “HAPPY FEET”

The animated “Happy Feet” is a great deal of fun for kids of all ages. A kind of mix of “Moulin Rouge” and “March of the Penguins,” the movie follows the adventures of a tribe of penguins who sing songs to each other to kind their life long mate. From the time their little ones hatch out, they’re encouraged to sing. But Mumble (voiced by Elijah Wood) doesn’t have a song. He expresses his emotions by doing something un-penguin: he dances. This makes him an outcast as he grows up and soon he’s off to find his place in the frozen world. (more…)
